Hubungan Antara Gaya Kepimpinan Terhadap Prestasi Kerja Pensyarah Kolej Komuniti
Abstract
Leadership style is one of the key elements in producing a dedicated employee towards a high quality and high performance organization. Therefore, the study was conducted to identify the relationship between leadership styles in the autocratic, democratic and laissez-faire dimensions of work performance among lecturers at 6 Community Colleges in Malacca. A total of 120 sets of questionnaires were analyzed using Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) version 22.0. The correlation and multiple regression analyzes have been used in the hypothesis determination. The findings show that laissez-faire leadership style is significantly associated with job performance. While autocratic and democratic leadership styles have little to do with job performance. However, the R² value between the leadership style and the work performance of the lecturers is only 0.12 which indicates that the leadership style affects only the work of the community college lecturer by 12% and the rest is influenced by other factors. Therefore, it can be concluded that the performance of community college lecturers is not only influenced by the leadership style but also influenced by other factors by 88%.
