https://app.mypolycc.edu.my/journal/index.php/PKKJLLL/article/view/622

Visual skills are important mathematical process skills that need to be applied in more complex fields such as physics. Students need to be trained to visualize vector concepts. Therefore, this paper aims to discuss the potential of the My Vector activity in helping students solve vector arithmetic operations by visualizing them in the physical world. This study uses the Kemmis and McTaggart model in one cycle. An initial review was conducted through a topical test on subtopic 5.1. Then, students' marks and achievement levels of learning objectives were analysed to design and act to address the problem of students only achieving one out of four learning objectives of subtopic 5.1. Backgrounded by the integration of the 5E model of learning and flipped classroom learning method, activities involving 11 students from Labuan Matriculation College encouraged students to visualize and practice vector operations to solve vector arithmetic operations in three dimensions. Data were collected through observation, document analysis, and interviews. Qualitative analysis of the findings showed that the implementation of intervention activities improved students' skills in solving vector questions. In addition, interview results showed that the My Vector activity had a positive impact on students' attitudes towards learning vector processes. Reflection results concluded that changes in more active teaching practices had a positive effect on the teaching practice of the researcher and the learning of students in mathematics, especially in the vector topic.
Azlinda Tuah

https://app.mypolycc.edu.my/journal/index.php/PKKJLLL/article/view/609

Foreign direct investment is an investment that comes from another country to buy assets or invest in business interests in that country. FDI is different from other types of investment, like portfolio investment, in that it entails a long-term commitment and control over the foreign business entity. An important factor in a nation's development is FDI, which promotes economic expansion, draws in outside capital, creates job opportunities, transfers knowledge and technical innovations, and enhances infrastructure. By attracting FDI, Malaysia may increase exports, diversify its economy, and improve its competitiveness globally. Moreover, FDI has the capacity to support the expansion of vital industries and sectors in Malaysia, therefore advancing the country's prosperity and sustainable development. Every country has a different FDI and unemployment rate. Consequently, this study will use the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) and vector error correction model (VECM) methods to determine the real relationship between FDI and the unemployment rate in Malaysia from 1982 to 2020. The analysis found that the increase in FDI inflows to Malaysia also increases the unemployment rate. This result contradicts the previous study, where FDI inflows stimulate the economy by boosting job opportunities. However, this result based on Malaysian data may explain that the major FDI inflows are relatively higher in brownfield investments than in greenfield investments, such as the joint venture between Geely and Proton.
Kalai Vani KalimuthuMei Ling Sai Vinothiny SubramanianChuan Chew FooVikniswari Vija KumaranMuhammad Baqir Abdullah

https://app.mypolycc.edu.my/journal/index.php/PKKJLLL/article/view/580

Abstract

Land survey is a measurement work on the ground marked with boundary stones or temporary bench mark while using tools such as theodolite or total station and two prisms to measure the angle and distance between certain points in the field. Usually the prism will be erected on rear and front view stations as markers and the angle will be measured using the total station. This practice is common for Diploma in Geomatic (DGU) students to carry out traverse survey work around the Kuching Polytechnic Sarawak (PKS) area every time they practice it. The practice of cadastral surveying in Sarawak allows the use of 'pole-jurin' to replace the prism in the marking of the observed measuring stations. Usually in minimal use only one prism is carried along with the total station. Thus, the large amount of equipment, weight and long period of time providing the station using 'pole jurin' became a constraint for DGU students in PKS. Pole-jurin is permanently designed using readily available materials. The results showed that the weight of the fixed pole-jurin was 1 kg and the time to set up for only 2 minutes on average. Prototypes are tested for effectiveness throughout field tests that are evaluated in terms of durability. Questionnaires are carried out to obtain feedback from students and lecturers. In fact, the questionnaire found that the 4th item fixed pole-jurin was easier to use with the highest score of 4.67. Therefore, the use of fixed pole-jurin remains easier to take to the field and stored in survey workshops using minimal space. Thus, in the cadastral survey work in PKS students will bring one total station, one prism and the rest is a pole-jurin whose number depends on the need.

Keywords: traverse, pole-jurin, prism
Lukman Nul Hakim Md TerasidMohd Fadli Che AdenanAlvadjuri Affandie

2024-06-302024-06-30813747Exploring Aesthetic Patterns Of High-Temperature ColourGlaze Modern Ceramic In China
https://app.mypolycc.edu.my/journal/index.php/PKKJLLL/article/view/654

The presentation of modern high-temperature colored glaze painting schema is basically the original schema and artistic concept of Chinese and Western art, which is reorganized under the reference. Exploring the logical starting point of constructing the modern high-temperature colored glaze painting schema is actually the expansion and construction of the "self-nature" of the unique material and craft beauty of high-temperature colored glaze. With this unique aesthetic element, modern high temperature color glaze painting embodies two aspects of aesthetic value in the creation process. First, the unique composition elements of the ceramic material itself, showing an independent aesthetic feeling; The second is the application of materials and media related to high temperature color glaze painting, and the formal beauty law conveyed through the ceramic production process in the schema construction. Through the comparative study of Chinese and Western painting theories and modern typical high-temperature painting works, combined with the production practice of high-temperature painting decoration technology, this paper defines the aesthetic experience of high-temperature painting decoration independent of any other painting forms. In a sense, the expression of this aesthetic experience has broken away from any inherent schema and image constraints, and has become the logical starting point for the reconstruction of the schema of modern high-temperature colored glaze painting.

DuyueFauzi NaeimXiong Minhe

2024-06-302024-06-308193103Impact of E-Book Human Computer Interaction on Student’s Motivation, Achievement and Cognitive Load
https://app.mypolycc.edu.my/journal/index.php/PKKJLLL/article/view/602

The research seeks to evaluate the efficacy of using the E-Book human computer interaction in terms of motivation, performance on achievement tests, and cognitive load experienced by students. The purpose of this study was to examine variations in motivation levels among students with varying levels of knowledge, establish the correlation between motivation and achievement test scores, and ascertain whether cognitive burden acts as a mediator between student motivation and test performance. The assessment was carried out by administering before and post tests using the Instructional Materials Motivational Scale (IMMS) survey questionnaire and the NASA Task Load Index cognitive load test (NASA-TLX). The research use experimental quasi-methods to collect data, which is then subjected to quantitative analysis utilising pairs-t tests and PLS-SEM. Seberang Perai Polytechnic has a cohort of 80 students enrolled in the subject Human computer interactions for the first semester. There are notable disparities in the accomplishment test scores, motivation levels, and cognitive load of pupils before and after using the E-book Human computer interaction. The pair-t test findings indicated substantial disparities in achievement test performance across children, with t-values of -11.515 (p = 0.000) and -12.729 (p = 0.000). Prior to and following the utilisation of the E-Book Human computer interaction, there was a substantial disparity in motivation levels among students. This was evident both before (T = -158.650, P = 0.000) and after (T = -158.796, P = 0.000) the implementation of e-books. Furthermore, motivation exhibited a significant correlation with students' academic progress (t = 5.597, p = 0.00). The analysis reveals that cognitive strain serves as a substantial mediator between motivation and student achievement test performance (β:0.106, t:4.904, p = 0.00). To summaries, the E-Book human computer interaction serves as a viable option for enhancing teaching materials. It may be used as a comprehensive resource for the study of human computer interactions, while also stimulating student engagement and academic performance.
