Tahap Motivasi Pelajar Kolej Vokasional dalam Melaksanakan Kerja-Kerja Kemahiran Teknikal
Abstract
Motivation is a important psychological element for encourage individual to achieve their target. The aims of this study is to measure the level of motivation and identify significant differences of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on the technical skills of Kolej Vokasional Kluang students. A total of 148 students from the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 1 (Semester 2) with 7 technical course has been selected as respondents. The research approach quantitative study with the questionnaire instrument. The results show the intrinsic motivation in higher level, while extrinsic motivation moderate level. In addition, the results show that there are no significant difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the technical skills by gender (intrinsic, r=0.97, extrinsic, r=0.23) and course (intrinsic, r=0.98, extrinsic, r=0.50) where (r> 0.05). In addition the Intrinsic motivation is more dominant than extrinsic motivation because students are more motivated by internal factors than external factors as the driving force in technical skills.
