Abstract

Innovation development in teaching and learning is a creative alteration carried out by a lecturer during a teaching and learning process to ensure Course Learning Outcome is achieved and generating students’ first class mind-sets, creativity and innovativeness. Motor Control Component Tester is an initiative of teaching and learning innovation development of a researcher as lecturer teaching Motor Control Course for students of Certificate in Electrical Technology program at Kolej Komuniti Tawau, Sabah. This research is aimed to identify motivation level, suitability of the design and students’ understanding level while utilizing the Motor Control Component Tester in teaching and learning process. This research involved 48 students of Certificate in Electrical Technology program for Semester 2 of December 2018 session. Researcher has conducted a pilot study towards the students before carrying out the actual study to identify the credibility and the validity of the measuring instrument applied. As a result of the pilot study, a total of α=0.82 Cronbach Alpha is achieved. This result indicates high credibility of the measuring instrument applied in the study. Therefore, the analysis of this study shows a significant relation between three domains in elevating students’ skills and understanding that are using the Motor Control Component Tester as facilitator in teaching and learning process.
