Peer Review Process
In order to assess the quality and validity of the work reported, all manuscripts submitted to the Politeknik & Kolej Komuniti Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (PMJSSH) are peer-reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers may be selected from local or international institutions.
PMJSSH adopts a single-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of the reviewers are kept confidential. In the event of conflicting recommendations between the two reviewers, a third reviewer may be appointed to assist the Editor in reaching a decision.
PMJSSH utilises the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform for manuscript submission, peer-review management, and tracking the progress of submitted manuscripts throughout the editorial process.
Based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations, the following decisions may be made:
- Accept Submission – The manuscript is accepted for publication. Minimal revisions may be required before publication.
- Revisions Required – The manuscript requires revisions to its content and/or structure before it is ready for publication.
- Resubmit for Review – The manuscript requires substantial revisions and must be revised and resubmitted for further review and reconsideration.
- Decline Submission – The manuscript is not accepted for publication as it does not meet the journal’s requirements or is not suitable for PMJSSH.
The reviewers’ comments and recommendations are communicated to the authors through the OJS platform. Authors are required to address the reviewers’ comments and submit a revised manuscript where applicable.
The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief and/or the designated Editor.
Members of the Editorial Board who submit manuscripts to PMJSSH are subject to the same peer-review process and editorial standards as other authors. They shall not be involved in the selection of reviewers or in any editorial decision concerning their own manuscripts.
