Faktor-Faktor Yang Signifikan Dalam Perancangan Kerjaya Lulusan Kolej Komuniti
Abstract
Career requires careful planning and should not be neglected with an expectation for it to develop
on its own. Hence, it is crucial to ensure that an individual's future career is in tandem with his
interests, personalities and academic achievements. Therefore, the research was conducted to
identify factors of career planning among Community College graduates in facing the ordeal of
career challenging world. The quantitative research was implemented with the participation of
Community Colleges graduates from Melaka and Negeri Sembilan zone as its sampling. A total of
222 samples responded for the questionnaire which exceeded the recommendations of the GPower sampling apps for the T-test (n=102), One-Way ANOVA (n=159) and Pearson Correlation
analysis (n=115). Google Form questionnaires were utilized for the data collection and analyzed
using SPSS 23.0 for the research outcome. The finding shows that the factors with high level
mean value; Planning Focus (4.29), Self-Efficacy (4.21), Planning Objectives (4.14) and Catalyst
Factors (4.34) are the main factors affecting Community College graduates career planning.
However, it was also identified that these four factors do not contribute for any significant
differences towards genders and programs variables. Nevertheless, the analysis of the study
indicated that there is a moderate level of correlation (r) between career planning and these four
factors; (Planning Focus r=.585; Self-Efficacy r=.579; Planning Objectives r=651; and Catalyst
Factor r=602). Overall, the findings could be instigated as a guideline and reference for
Community College management to assist Community College students and graduates in
developing a systematic career planning.
