Tahap Kemahiran Penyelesaian Masalah Pelajar Sarjana Muda Teknologi Kejuruteraan Pembuatan (Rekabentuk Automotif) Setelah Menjalani Work Based Learning
Abstract
Polytechnic as a higher education institution for technical education is responsible to produce qualified and competitive graduates to meet the needs of industry. Among the key element that is need by the industry are the problems solving skills. To realize this, the polytechnic education system has to implement a new teaching and learning concept which conducted through work based learning. This aim of the research is to examine the problem solving skills every students after undergo work based learning. This investigation utilize study use Problem Solving Rating Scale Employees questionnaire (PSRS-E) as a research instrument and 26 students from second cohort of Bachelor in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (Automotive Design) is selected as a respondent. Research finding shows that the level of problem solving skills every students is at moderate level. Whereas ANOVA one way analysis shows that there is no significant difference in problem solving skills in various problem solving activities according to entry qualification. This study also shows that work based learning is an effective learning approach in producing knowledgeable graduates to prepare themselves to enter the job market with the skills required by the industry.
