Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in submitting your manuscript to the Politeknik & Kolej Komuniti Journal of Engineering and Technology (PMJET).

PMJET welcomes submission of manuscripts written in UK English. The manuscript should be prepared using Microsoft® Word.  It must be between 10 to 12 pages only, including tables, figures, and a list of references. The text should be typed within a print area with margins similar to this template. The body of the manuscript should be typed in single-column and single spaces. The title should be capitalised in each word and centred across the page. It should be typed in Bookman Old Style,14, Bold.

The paper should include the names and addresses of all authors. The author's name should be typed in Bookman Old Style, font size 12 and boldface. The authors' addresses and the corresponding author's email should be typed in Bookman Old Style, font size 10. 

The body text should be typed in Bookman Old Style, 12, Single Spacing. Please use the following headings: 

  • Introduction, 
  • Methodology, 
  • Results and Discussion, 
  • Conclusion(s), 
  • Acknowledgements,
  • Author Contributions,
  • Conflicts of Interest,
  • References.

Manuscripts should only be submitted for consideration once consent is given by all contributing authors. Those submitting manuscripts should be carefully checked to ensure that all works contributed to the manuscript are acknowledged. The list of authors should include all those who can legitimately claim authorship.

JOURNAL EDITORIAL PROCESS

PMJET uses the online platform Online Journal System (OJS) for the editorial and publication processes which include submission, reviewing, proofreading and copyediting. In general, the publication process will take approximately 26-28 weeks once the manuscript is submitted by authors through the online system. Prior to the reviewing process, the article must be screened for a < 30% similarity index.
